SWTOR SETUP STEP BY STEP:
I actually run SWTOR on my 2011 Macbook Pro using 'PlayOnMac'. It's one of many Wine implementations on Mac, but this one tends to gear towards gaming. There's even an 'installer script' for SWTOR. It works pretty well on 5 year old hardware. But, I'll add that I play on my MBP when I want to be portable, and don't need my gaming PC. I am going to get my MacBook Pro next week, and I have been trying to figure out the best way to play SWTOR on MAC. Here are the options I am aware of: Bootcamp Parallels CrossOver via Wine I know most of you will say Bootcamp is the best option. But I don't want to mess up my Mac as soon as I get it, just to play SWTOR.

- 1 day ago Both these methods have flaws and cost quite a bit of cash just to play SWTOR for mac. There is a recently developed Star Wars The Old Republic version with a mac port that allows mac users to play the game by using a software called Crossover Games.
- Dec 01, 2015 BootCamp is your best option. Crossover will work, but you will have very poor performance. Crossover has to run both Windows and Mac at the same time and has to simulate some Windows features: all of which makes games and other intensive programs run slowly. BootCamp only has to run the Windows OS and runs all OS features natively.
